Who am I?

Rutger Pronk

My name is Rutger Pronk, a software developer from the Netherlands. I graduated as a Software Developer at ROC Nijmegen and in 2026 started my ICT bachelor's degree at Fontys University of Applied Sciences in Eindhoven.

I like building things end to end: web apps with Next.js and TypeScript, the self-hosted Kubernetes cluster they run on, and Rust firmware for ESP32 microcontrollers.

What can I do?

I mostly work with TypeScript, Next.js and Tailwind CSS, and run my projects on my own Kubernetes cluster, managed with Terraform and deployed through GitHub Actions. Through school projects, an internship and game jams I've learned to work well in a team. Here are some projects that show what I can do.

Dijker Website

Bilingual website for the dijker, a vehicle with a one-of-a-kind spiral belt drive. Built with Next.js and deployed to a VM with Docker Compose and Caddy, with a preview environment for every pull request.

Self-hosted Kubernetes Platform

The K3s cluster in my homelab that runs my websites. A reusable GitHub Actions workflow deploys every app with OpenTofu: each pull request gets its own preview URL with a TLS certificate, and every merge goes straight to production.

Motorized Blinds

Rust firmware that motorizes my blinds: ESP32 modules drive the motors, and a custom nRF52840 remote controls them over radio, all in a 3D-printed case.

Real-life Soundboard

Nine physical buttons on an ESP32 that trigger sounds on an Android phone over Bluetooth LE. Rust firmware on the ESP32, and a Kotlin app that keeps working in the background.
